Who is Dieter Moeller?

As a teenager, Dieter Moeller spent a considerable amount of time exploring the dark night sky from his family’s cabin on their property in Adams County. This experience led to a lifetime pursuit of amateur astronomy. Dieter owned many telescopes throughout the years, but his success in business would open up the opportunity to acquire some truly special telescopes.

Dieter obtained his BS in Physics and a BS in Computer Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in 1988. He spent some time with NCR Corporation before joining his father’s aircraft engine tooling company Rhinestahl in 1990 as its General Manager, developing new business opportunities. Dieter became President and CEO after his father’s retirement in 2006. In 2024 Rhinestahl acquired HYDRO Systems and became RH Aero, the global leader in aviation support equipment and services.

Dieter and his wife Susan Moeller, MD (cardiac anesthesiology) live in Mason, Ohio and have two adult daughters Meghan and Katie.
